MNSong Showcase
Three new song cycles come to life, premieres by MNSong Composers Steven Ward with songs on texts by Paul Dunbar, James A. Devor in a new cycle for four vocalists, piano, guitar, and organ titled The Workers’ Prayers, and Laura Nevitt’s new cycle of Emily Dickinson poetry. This evening will feature local performers such as Casey Rafn, Clara Osowski, Scott Brunscheen, Alan Dunbar, Austin Wahl, and more.

Baritone Sidney Outlaw and pianist Warren Jones celebrate song with an incredible versatile and diverse recital featuring Rossini songs, Schumann’s Liederkreis, Op. 24, H. T. Burleigh’s complete Passionale, and Boykin’s 26 Ways of looking at a Black Man.

MNDuo: Singing down the Barriers
Emery Stephens hosts eight MNDuo’s in a performance of songs and spirituals by African-American composers. Carefully selected throughout the week, this showcase of repertoire will be a highlight of the festival.
