Described by Opera News as a “vibrant, eye-catching presence whenever she was onstage” and as “refreshingly uncaricatured …attractive in sound and person,” mezzo-soprano, Sara Fanucchi performs regularly in the Twin Cites since relocating from New York where she maintained an active schedule in concert and opera. Opera roles include Orpheus (Orpheus and Eurydice), Dorabella (Cosi fan Tutte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Lucretia (The Rape of Lucretia), and Hansel (Hansel und Gretel). She has appeared locally with Minnesota Opera, Minnesota Orchestra, Mill City Summer Opera, Garden of Song Opera, and Minnesota Chorale. While on the east coast, she appeared at Avery Fisher Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, The Players Club, Kaye Playhouse, and St. John the Devine, and with Bronx Opera, Opera New Jersey, Garden State Opera, Amore Opera, dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, and Atlanta Chamber Players. Sara holds a Masters of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music and dual Bachelors of Music in voice and Bachelors of Arts in environmental studies from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and College of Arts and Sciences respectively.
