Biography: Sabreena Cherrington, soprano, is currently pursuing her masters degree in voice performance at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, where she studies with Andrew Wentzel. At UTK she is a graduate teaching assistant in the voice and musicology departments, as well as being a member of Knoxville Opera's Young Artist Opera Studio. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2018, where she majored in choral music education. Recently, Sabreena performed the role of Eva Delvingné in Dan Shore's An Embarrassing Position and Kate Pinkerton in Puccini's Madama Butterfly. She was recently named a semi-finalist in the young artist division of the Orpheus Vocal Competition in Tennessee. She is looking forward to her upcoming role of Annina in Verdi's La Traviata with the Bay View Music Festival in the summer of 2021.
