Biography: Margaret Matejcek is an emerging soubrette soprano living and working in the Twin Cities. Recent credits include "The Mikado" (Yum-Yum) with Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company, "Venus and Adonis" (Venus) with Brooklyn Music School, "La Belle Hélène" at Lakes Area Music Festival, "Orpheus in the Underworld" (Morpheus), and "Suor Angelica"(Suor Genovieffa) at the University of Minnesota. This year, Margaret was a semi-finalist in the 2020 Orpheus Vocal Competition, and was to attend Miami Classical Music Festival's Baroque Institute and International Vocal Arts Institute in Montreal, though both were cancelled due to COVID-19. Margaret graduated with high distinction from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2018, and she is currently a student of Victoria Vargas.
