Biography: Jordan Jenkins (b.1992) is an American composer, musician, and artist focused on creating unique, powerful music that weaves different styles and genres into a single coherent narrative. Jordan first caught the composing bug in the 8th grade, when his band director gave him an old copy of a music notation software program, and has been composing and arranging ever since. Jordan has written a diverse catalogue of music ranging from full orchestra to string quartet to art song and opera, and more recently songs in the pop, rock, and metal genres. A pianist and multi-instrumentalist, Jordan also makes a living performing in piano bars and at private events across the country. He holds a Master’s degree in composition from Roosevelt University. In his free time, Jordan enjoys reading books, spending time with his friends and family, biking around the great city of Chicago, and lounging around, preferably with his wife Cory and his cats Pipsqueak and Darwin.

Source Moment: It's hard to pick a favorite moment from Source, but in both of my years participating in the festival I'd have to say that my favorite part was the collaboration that it fostered between the composers and the pianist and singer duo participants. It was an unforgettable experience getting to know different people from different backgrounds within the context of the common love of art song.
