Biography: A recent finalist in auditions for the GRAMMY-award winning group Chanticleer, Elias Berezin is a California native. Recent concert performances include the tenor solos in Mozart's Coronation Mass and Haydn's The Creation with the Palisades Symphony. Berezin has been presented as a Fox Singer with the Verdi Chorus and regularly appears in front of orchestras in festivals put on by World Mission University. On the stage, Berezin originated the role of George in the new musical The Boggs & Maschmeyer Funeral Home, a co-production of Ric Henry Productions and VOPA, and has covered roles with Guild Opera Company, Pacific Opera Project, and Center Stage Opera. Future projects, postponed due to COVID-19, include the role of Ferrando in Guild Opera Company’s upcoming Così fan tutte, Frank in Pacific Lyric Association’s Die Fledermaus, as well as being presented in recital by Santa Ana College. Berezin is a member of C3LA and has an active studio.

Source Moment: A master class with Julius Drake was perhaps the most memorable experience I had. His demonstration of discipline with dynamics (if this is your mp, you must have a p and a pp below it, as well as an mf, f, and ff above!) was both instructive in the immediate sense, but also with regard to the universal level of discipline and care one must have with all performance choices.
